Did you know that deep breathing can help you feel more relaxed? You can practice deep breaths before you go to sleep or when you’re feeling anxious, frustrated or angry. Really, any time is a good time to practice! Use these steps to practice deep breathing while quietly coloring.

  1. Relaxing photoSit in a comfortable position.
  2. Close your eyes (if you want) to help you focus.
  3. Inhale slowly and deeply through your nose. Slowly fill your lungs with air.
  4. Focus on how your lungs feel as they fill with air.
  5. Exhale slowly from your nose or mouth.
  6. Visualize your stress being released as you exhale.
  7. Repeat steps and notice how you are starting to feel more relaxed.
