Michael Stanley Child Life Fund

Michael Stanley at 2014 Iroquois Steeplechase

In April 2005, Michael Stanley of Nashville, Tenn. was diagnosed with cancer. After a 13-hour surgery, 48 weeks of chemotherapy, six weeks of radiation, and more than 100 days in the hospital, Michael achieved remission.

Michael was honored with a Make-a-Wish Foundation trip to Walt Disney World in 2009. He also became the child ambassador to the 2014 Iroquois Steeplechase, one of the largest annual fundraisers for Children's Hospital and a Nashville-area tradition.

Michael died in April 2015 after a second battle with cancer.

To honor Michael and help ensure that Child Life services are always available to patients and families at Children’s Hospital, his family started the Michael Stanley Child Life Fund endowment. This endowment will remain in place from now on, and only the interest earned on the initial gift will be spent each year, ensuring growth and sustainability of Child Life into the future.

Your gift will have a long-term impact on families and patients. Additionally, gifts of toys and other items are always in need if you prefer to give in this manner.
