Martavion Tinnel, 8, stem cell patient
Martavion Tinnel is an 8 year old patient who will be featured in a Children’s Hospital Hope magazine story on our stem cell transplant program. Martavion, who has sickle cell disease, came to Children’s Hospital to have a specific stem cell transplant procedure done that is not offered elsewhere in the region. He lives in Mississippi and is coming for a check up on Monday, Aug. 15 at Children’s Hospital. He could be our possible cover for the magazine, but will definitely be lead art for the story. Since he has been really sick since birth his activities are often limited to inside, ie video games/watching videos. But we’re hoping to get a nice portrait of him at Centennial Park after his clinic visit as primary art, but would also like some photos of him with his doctor, Carrie Kitko, who heads the peds stem cell program.
