Heaven on Earth
- 30 second audio clip:

About the Song from music therapist Jenny Plume

This song was written in the middle of a lengthy admission. Chris had become familiar with the songwriting process we established and was quite comfortable at this point collaborating with me.

I remember thinking that the idea of “heaven on earth” is so big, yet his examples of what would fall into this category were so simple; a dream (playing on the stage), a typical lifestyle (being around friends), and a feeling that every child should know (safety).

The music came quickly and the song came together with ease. We are so grateful to Phil Vassar for his immediate willingness to be a part of this project.

Lyrics

There's a place where a guy can go
To tell his problems and then they go away
They don't stay
They fly away and then I'm in this place

Heaven on earth where I play on the stage
Heaven on earth where I'm always safe
Heaven on earth where there are friends
Heaven on earth, amen

There's a place where a guy can go
He doesn't have to pretend and so
He acts like who he is
Closes his eyes and he makes a wish

For heaven on earth where he plays on a stage
Heaven on earth where he's always safe
Heaven on earth where there are friends
Heaven on earth, amen
