IMPAX 6 - Radiology Imaging System

Radiology utilizes IMPAX 6, a radiology imaging system for viewing studies. IMPAX 6 is a software client that must be installed on the computer, and is not available from within Star Panel. The Radiology IMPAX 6 system allows authorized users to access Radiological images online via a web browser.

To access IMPAX 6 from a device outside of Vanderbilt campus, such as your home or offsite practice, you must first have admitting privileges at our hospital, then obtain a VUNetID and download the Junos Pulse VPN client. Due to the higher resolution needed for viewing Radiological images online, some monitors may provide clearer images than others.

The IMPAX 6 system is used on clinical and diagnostic workstations and is available for all physicians, nurses, and medical students for image viewing use. A secondary IMPAX 6 tutorial icon is also available on the clinical workstations.

  • Users sign on with VUnetID and ePassword.
  • New users will go through their security manager for access requests.
  • For IMPAX issues contact the Help Desk at (615) 343-HELP (4357).
  • For questions, comments or training requests contact Imaging Support team at (615) 322-0852.
