Professor and Director, Division of Pediatric Urology
John W. Brock III, M.D., received his bachelor of science in history at Vanderbilt University and his medical degree at the Medical College of Georgia. He was a resident in Urology at Vanderbilt University, serving as chief resident. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology with a subspecialty certification in pediatric urology.
Brock is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Surgeons and the Society for Pediatric Urology. He is past president of the Society for Pediatric Urology. He is active in the American Urological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics (Section on Urology), serving as presenter and moderator. He is a member of the American Association of Genitourinary Surgeons Inc., and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society Faculty. He is on the editorial boards of International Pediatric Surgery, and the Journal of Urology (Pediatric Urology Section) and the executive committee of the Journal of Pediatric Urology.
Brock is professor of urologic surgery and pediatrics at Vanderbilt University. In 1992 he became the director of the Division of Pediatric Urology. He was named surgeon-in-chief of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt in 2002.
