Who We Are
Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Metro Parks and Recreation are working together to improve the health of children in Nashville. Our flagship site will be the newly renovated Coleman Community Center, a facility dedicated to healthy lifestyles.
What We Do
We bring the community together with researchers to create and test innovative programs aimed at keeping children healthy and active. Our goal is to help children maintain a healthy weight and to prevent chronic diseases like obesity and diabetes.
Hip Hop to Health
A 12-year-old participant in the Nashville Collaborative's after school program has found fun in fitness to a funky beat. He showed his new moves at the recent celebration.
Tell Us What you Think!
Do you have an idea to help solve childhood obesity? We would love to hear it!
We are located at the new Coleman Community Center at the intersection of Nolensville Road and Thompson Lane.
