| At Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, we strive to offer the best and safest care to our patients and families. We've made hand hygiene a priority through our "Healthy Hands, Healthy Lives" campaign by encouraging everyone — staff, visitors, and families — to practice proper hand hygiene.
Regular and thorough hand washing is the best way to prevent germs from spreading. In a hospital setting, our patients are at an increased risk for the transmission of hospital acquired infections. Alcohol hand sanitizer dispensers are placed throughout the hospital for everyone to use.
Our goal is 100% compliance because we believe in doing the right thing every time. Our staff is expected to wash or gel each and every time they enter and exit a child's room.
Please partner with us in the care of your child by reminding us to wash our hands every time we come in contact with your child. Let's work hand-in-hand to keep our children safe.
