Children's After-Hours Clinics

Sometimes a tummy ache, minor cut, or a bean in the ear can't wait until your doctor's office opens. The Vanderbilt Children's After-Hours Clinics offers you the convenience of a walk-in clinic with care provided by a board-certified pediatrician from Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. No appointment is necessary, but we recommend you call your pediatrician first.

Our clinics are staffed by board-certified Vanderbilt pediatricians. Doctors in the after-hours clinic do not provide ongoing care. Your child’s pediatrician will receive a report about the visit that same evening. Should we find that your child needs a higher level of care, we will arrange transport to the appropriate facility.

Our pediatricians diagnose and treat:

  • Sore throats and ear infections
  • Rashes and skin infections
  • Gastrointestinal illnesses, such as vomiting and diarrhea with mild dehydration
  • Respiratory problems, such as coughs, asthma, and croup
  • Evaluation and splinting of injuries to arms and legs with coordination of orthopaedist appointment (next business day) if needed
  • Simple wounds
  • Foreign objects in ears and noses
  • Other illnesses and injuries including colds and allergies
