Arranging a Pediatric Transport

Call toll free (866) 936-7811 for a pediatric patient requiring transfer.

Our communication center will take your name, hospital name, call back number and the following information:

  • Patient age, weight and gender
  • Current vital signs
  • Clinical problem

Your call will be connected to the Attending in the emergency room to discuss the patient, what treatment has been performed, and a decision will be made regarding the need for transport.

If transport is necessary, the Pediatric Transport Team has the capability of transporting by ground with a stretcher or Isolette and is available to transport those patients requiring acute stabilization and specialized care during transport.

When transferring a patient to Children’s Hospital ER the following items should accompany the patient:

  • All outside hospital paper work, including all medication’s given and time
  • All lab reports
  • Any X-rays (on a disk if possible)
  • Patient personal belonging (clothes if trauma is involved)
  • Medical necessity form and consent provided by the team
