Therapeutic Apheresis

Apheresis is the process of removing a part of the blood that contributes to an illness. Blood is drawn through a small tube (catheter) placed in a vein, typically in your child's arm. A machine separates their blood into components, filters out certain parts, and returns the blood to the vein.
