Critical Care Team

Doctors
Several teams of doctors may be caring for your child. An attending physician heads each team of doctors. These teams may include a surgeon and a doctor from the intensive care unit, usually a pediatric intensivist, who is a specialist in treating critically ill children.

Fellows
You may have contact with doctors in training in our intensive care unit. These include medical students, residents, and fellows. A fellow is a doctor who is getting highly specialized training in one particular critical care treatment or research area.

Nurse Practitioners
Our critical care nurse practitioners are specially trained to closely monitor and care for your child. They provide clinical management of select patients and serve as leaders within the Pediatric Critical Care Unit.
