Your baby's care team includes neonatologists, pediatric surgeons, pediatric medical subspecialists, neonatology fellows, neonatal and pediatric nurse practitioners, neonatal nurses, pediatric radiologists, respiratory therapists, pediatric pharmacists, nutritionists and lactation specialists, social workers and discharge planners.

Doctors are on duty in the NICU 24 hours a day. In addition to receiving specialized training in Pediatrics, neonatologists have at least three additional years of training in the care of high-risk newborns.

Nurse Practitioners
Our neonatal nurse practitioners are experts in managing the care of newborns and infants, while working with parents and families during times of stress. They have completed graduate level education as well as additional training.

The registered nurses in intensive care are highly specialized and trained to take care of babies. If your baby is here for several weeks, a team of nurses will attend to you and your child. A nurse will explain your baby's special needs and the equipment used in the unit.

We embrace the practice of imaging gently to limit a child's exposure to radiation, without compromising quality. Our pediatric radiologists have had advanced training in radiology for infants.
Social Workers
You and your family are not alone when your baby is with us in the neonatal intensive care unit. Social workers are here to help you adjust to this new environment. They can you find information about community resources and guide you as you prepare to go home.
Case Managers
Your baby's case manager will help you with concerns and questions about the baby's care, discharge planning, insurance questions, and other special needs.
Nutrition and Lactation Specialists
Nutritionists assess the daily nutritional requirements of high-risk infants as well as provide education. Lactation specialists will help mothers with breastfeeding while in the NICU.
