Pulmonary Hypertension Program

A Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center

Children’s Hospital's Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) program has earned the top level of accreditation from the national Pulmonary Hypertension Association (PHA).

Ours is one of only seven pediatric programs in the country to be designated a Pulmonary Hypertension Comprehensive Care Center. It is the only program of its kind in the Southeastern United States.

Our program has received this honor because of

  • Proper disease diagnosis
  • Disease management through an interdisciplinary approach
  • Leadership through teaching and research
  • A rigorous review process

What is pulmonary hypertension?

Pulmonary hypertension is high blood pressure in the vessels of the lungs. This makes it harder for the heart to pump blood through the lungs.

Caring for children with PH requires a dedicated team to coordinate care in a family-centered environment. Learn more about how we diagnose and treat pediatric pulmonary hypertension.
